Dr. Marina found functional medicine during her own health journey with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at age 23. While undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, Dr. Marina supported her body through nourishing foods and supplementation. This journey helped her to realize that Western medicine and functional medicine don't have to be two separate entities, but can comanage one's illness synergistically.

While in chiropractic school, Dr. Marina took an additional 300 hours of courses ranging from autoimmune, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal to endocrine disorders. She enjoyed her studies so much that she is also pursuing a Master's in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine which utilizes material from the renowned Institute of Functional Medicine. She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge in functional medicine with the Gretna community!
